Basic Handgun

$100

Duration: 8 hours

Description: Basic Handgun is designed to give students an in depth understanding of firearms safety and basic firearms handling skills. You will be given hands on experience with revolvers and semi-automatic handguns. You will learn the differences between single-action, double-action, and striker fired handguns, and the properties of the grip, stance, sight alignment, sight picture, trigger squeeze, and follow-through that will aid you in placing accurate shots on target. We will discuss the difference between target and defensive ammunition and when each is appropriate to be used. Students will also gain an understanding of what to look for when purchasing a firearm for entertainment or personal defense, as well as how to properly maintain and store your firearm when not in use. Lastly, students will be given the opportunity to put all of this knowledge into use when they are taken to the range for some live fire training. Students completing this class will be given a certificate of completion and a one year membership to The Bullet Stop range facility.
